Bollywood stars Akshay Kumar and Deepika Padukone achieved Dadasaheb Phalke Awards for the Best Actor in the prestigious award function held on Saturday. Due to covid pandemic no award ceremony was held for a long period of time. The star studded night was celebrated with talented artists. They were awarded for their excellent contribution to Indian cinemas.
Kiara Advani won the carper Best Actress award. Sushmita Sen also won the Best Actress Web series award. Bollywood superstars Akshay Kumar and Deepika Padukone bagged the Best Actor award for their mesmerizing performances in remarkable movies Laxmi and Chhapaak.
Further, an official instagram account of Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival also announced the statement. For the Deepika Padukone, Padmaavat star, they also wrote, celebrating the dedication you have been showing on the way for this great achievement. Deepika Padukone played the role of main character in the movie. The film is based on real life acid attack survivor Laxmi, the lady at the age of 15 years. She was attacked reportedly by a spurned lover in the year 2005.Laxmi has to also undergo with several surgical treatments. Later, she has promoted campaigns to avoid such attacks. She also applied for job of helping acid attackers’ survivor.
Laxmi is the horror comedy movie. This film is the modification of Tamil film Kanchana. The director of the movie Raghava Lawrence The movie was premiered on 9th November, 2020 on Disney plus Hotstar.
